Welcome to ICT Week
ICT Week 2009
27 July - 1 August

Celebrate the work of students and teachers switched on to ICT
Welcome to the VITTA ICT week web-site! VITTA is very pleased to be at the forefront of this long-term initiative and to be working closely with both the Victorian Government and the Australian Computer Society (ACS) in promoting excellence in ICT education and ICT career pathways. We have a lot of exciting events planned for the week, including our flag-ship event, the ICT & Careers Expo taking place at Melbourne High School on the 1st August. We are very keen to take your suggestions for events that could take place during the week, so please let us know! I would encourage you to promote ICT week and the Careers Expo widely throughout your school and the wider community. I look forward to hearing your ideas!
Regards, Adrian Janson

ICT; Get involved with IT!
ICT Week 2009
27th July - 1st August
Helping students and teachers switch onto new ideas in ICT
VITTA is committed to building community awareness of the importance of ICT in today’s technology rich age. ICT Week is now in its third year and has successfully raised the profile of ICT in all sectors of society and improved community awareness of the role of technology and innovation in achieving our societal and economic goals. Still, more can be done!
In 2009 the ICT week theme is centred on the diversity of careers in ICT and ICT career pathways. By running this program we aim to inspire young people, including young women, to think outside the traditional square of ICT studies and to consider ICT as a broad ranging and enjoyable pathway to practically any industry.
ICT Week 2009 will deliver a broad range of activities throughout a specialised week. This year, VITTA will conduct an ICT & Careers Expo at Melbourne High School which will be one of the targeted events included in the celebrations. In addition, we will highlight many innovative programs being run in schools throughout Victoria.
